| 2011 IOFS RULES AND REGULATIONS
SECTION 1 : IOFS CODES OF CONDUCT
The IOFS is all about the safety of its drivers, workers, and fans. To ensure the safety of everyone involved each driver, crew member, and series worker must take all the proper steps in making sure each evenings events are run smoothly and with out conflict.
If any drivers are caught cheating in anyway in 2011, on the first offense the driver and owner will forfeit any earned points or money for that night. If there is a second offense with the same driver or owner they will again forfeit any earnings or points from that night of racing and will not be allowed to return to IOFS competition without posted a $300 bond at the next event. If there is a third incident it will again result in a complete forfeit of the nights earnings and points and a $700 good faith bond to be posted by the driver or owner before being allowed to compete in the IOFS again. If a fourth incident occurs, further action will be taken,
If any drivers are caught in on or off track extracuriclar activities, on track confrontations will result in a black flag and the car will be forced out of the race at that time. With receiving the black flag the driver and owner will receive last place points and pay for that nights event. Fighting or paybacks will not be tolerated, the first offense will result in a DQ from that event and the driver or guilty parties will be place on probration with the IOFS and the track in which the altercation took place. The driver and owner will receive last place points and pay for the nights event. The second offense will result in termination from the series for the remainder of the series. The IOFS officials and series tracks will decide if and when they are allowed back to the IOFS Series.
In the 2011 the IOFS will have to use a small entry fee from the drivers or owners in efforts to improve the series, and help cover the growing expenses of an ever growing series. The entry fees will be very minimal for the IOFS Outlaw and IOFS Winged Compacts cars. A $10 entry fees for the Outlaws much be paid at each event, along with a $5 entry fee for the Winged Compacts at each event. This money will be used to improve point funds, pay IOFS employees and cover travel expenses for the series throughout the 2011 season.
SECTION 2 : IOFS RACE / LINE PROCEDURES
Each night with the IOFS will consist of at least two hot laps sessions for each class involved with that nights racing events. After that each driver will get one qualifying attempt worth two laps with the faster of the two laps counting for that entrant. Each car must be presented to the scales and have weight and tires checked and marked before being allowed to take part in the qualifying session. The qualifying times will be used to set up the heat races and the feature line ups. The cars will be split into 2-4 heats depending on the car count at the event. The fastest 8 drivers will make up the first heat, driver 9-16 in the second, 17-24 in the third and so on. The feature line-up will be based off a blind draw. The heats will all be 8 laps. The fastest qualifier for the nights event will draw a bill based off of the number of qualifiers from that night. The bill drawn will be the invert for the night feature race. The feature race will consist of 25,30,50, or 75 laps. If we are running twin 25’s features the 2nd feature line-up will be based of the first feature finish. The winner fo the 1st feature will draw of bill, that will be the invert for the 2nd feature based of the 1st features finish.
The race will feature a double file start, once the green flag is taken and 1 lap or more have been completed the leader will then choose a lane to start from, the other lane will be left open allowing the leader to start alone on the front row. (to stop jumping, etc..) The 2nd place driver then will pick his lane and the other will fill in a double file formation start. This will continue throughout the event until it is completed.
Cautions, if you unintentionally spin or cause a caution you must go to the tail of the field for the next restart. However, if you intentionally spin or cause a caution you must go to the tail and receive a one lap penalty. If two cars collide and cause a caution, a ruling will be made by the IOFS race director and the track crew. Ultimately the car that brings out the caution will go to the tail of the field. If it is deemed that a driver purposely spun the car in front and it is obviously, the driver that did the spinning will go to the tail, and the driver that was spun will get his/her spot back on the next restart.
